International Women's Day 8 March

Did you know that in 1984,

Australia introduced the world’s first Women’s Budget Statement, paving the way for many others to follow suit.

Achieving gender equality and women’s well-being in all aspects of life is more crucial than ever

if

we want to create prosperous economies and a healthy planet.

                                                   However,

we are facing a key challenge: the alarming $360 billion annual deficit in gender-equality measures by 2030.

Introducing the IPYG Affiliate Organization

Jssor Youth Organization, an affiliate of IPYG, operates as an NGO in Tikar, located in southern Iraq. Under the leadership of Mr. Mortadha Abdillah, the organization mobilizes youth from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to engage in peace-building initiatives, including youth campaigns and efforts to combat sexual violence. Its activities align closely with UNSC Resolution 2250, contributing positively to Iraqi society.

The organization actively participates in the MENA Youth Engagement & Peacebuilding Working Group (YEPW), facilitating activities such as interviews and surveys to enhance the awareness and understanding of youth in the Middle East.

These efforts aim to empower young people to play meaningful roles in promoting peace.

Lastly, here is a message from Ms. Yasmine Wertani, Program Manager of Jssor Youth Organization.

“Peace and security are not merely the absence of violence or the cessation of conflicts; they entail envisioning free and democratic societies that uphold principles of justice, dignity, and address social, political, and structural inequalities.

Simply involving youth in peace processes falls short; they must actively engage in all political processes and decision-making affecting them and society. This aspect demands careful consideration in our endeavors towards peacebuilding.”

Will you support peace-building initiatives, including youth campaigns and efforts to combat sexual violence?

Fight Inequality, Fight Racism

Racism, xenophobia and related discrimination and intolerance exist in all societies, everywhere.Racism harmsnot just the lives of those who endure it, but also society as a whole. We all lose in a society characterized by discrimination, division, distrust, intolerance, and hate.

The fight against racism is everyone’s fight.

We all have a part to play in building a world beyond racism.
