DPCW_1038 : HWPL Peace Singing Contest

On July 29th, Childhood Joy Academy in Zambia held a singing contest. The academy has continuously implemented peace education since it signed an MOU for peace education with HWPL in August 2022.

Particularly this year, the school established a peace monument within its area, spearheading a culture of peace to enable students to remind themselves of peace in their daily lives.

The singing contest was part of the peace education. Zambians have a traditional culture of expressing their emotions through songs and dance. Based on such characteristic advantages, the competition served as a venue for artistically demonstrating peace.

Students lyricized what they have learned and thought about peace after the peace education. They delivered a more optimistic and hopeful message of peace, expressing the values of peace contained in the lyrics through beautiful melodies.

Kelvin Chisanga, Managing Director of I-NetCom Business Solutions, who participated in the event as a judge, said, “Music has a positive impact on the mental well-being of children.

I visited schools in Lusaka to participate in a singing contest to celebrate and support the children. Music has the power to express what words often cannot, and it’s essential to help children find a healthy balance in their minds through music.

Since this event is related to the peace education, I believe music is an excellent tool to promote mental health, as it often brings peace to various aspects of life.”

DPCW_1038 : Press Conference for the 9th Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit

When a reporter asked about HWPL’s role in achieving a peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula, Chairman Lee answered,

“I was on the frontlines as a soldier during the Korean War. It was the youth that were sacrificed.

It was all for power. Is it okay to destroy families, corrupt nations, and ruin the earth as long as it is for power? It is time for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) to be submitted to the UN as a resolution.

https://www.hwpl.kr/language/en/

It must be reviewed and fixed if lacking if not, it should be approved.”

HWPL proclaimed the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War, which focuses on the role of nations and civil society in resolving conflicts and achieving peace, in 2016.

UNESCO INTERNATIONAL DAY : World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

WDAH's

celebrations

in 2023

The 2023 World Day for Audiovisual Heritage will be celebrated on 27 October under the theme

“Your Window to the World”.

The celebration is key initiative for UNESCO and the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA) to honour audiovisual preservation professionals and institutions that safeguard our heritage for future generations.

#UNESCO #WORLD #VISUAL #HWPL #IWPG #WARP_0FFICE #PEACEWORLD #PEACEWALK #IPYG

As a window to the world, audiovisual heritage enables us to witness events we do not attend, listen to voices of the past, and create narratives that inform and entertain.

Through the exploration of recorded sounds and visual imagery captured on film and video, we not only gain an appreciation for the cultural wealth but also extract valuable lessons from it.

HWPL Statement on Israel-Hamas War

HWPL Statement on Israel-Hamas War

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international peace organization, strongly calls for an immediate cessation of the Israel-Hamas war that threatens global security and tramples on the integrity of life.

https://www.hwpl.kr/

It is clearly shown through reckless violencewhich only produces losersthat it is the innocent civilians who become the victims in wars, and everyone in the world is witnessing this situation in real time.

Failing to stop an unjustified war will result in thousands and tens of thousands of civilian casualties.

Can

anyone

compensate

for

such

devastating

atrocities?

Organizations across the globe that collaborate with HWPL, which obtained special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and associated with the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC), and HWPL members are urging for the two parties of the war to immediately cease the acts of aggression, protect the citizens, and actively engage in efforts to ensure recovery and peace.

🌐

Furthermore, we call on the UN and the international community to swiftly take necessary measures such as mediating peace between the two parties to bring them to a dialogue and providing humanitarian support.

Threats of violence cannot break the hope for freedom and peace held dearly by global citizens. This hope is a strong will shared across the globe, and humanity will foster firm solidarity under peace to ultimately bring about restoration by becoming one.

HWPL condemns violence and war that undermine world peace, and we will spare no effort to establish peace together with global citizens.

Poverty as a risk driver : International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, 13 October

On the 2023 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction we say: “No more”. No more inequality. No more leaving people behind. No more climate injustice.

No one is safe from the threat of disasters, until everyone is safe.

#UN #INTERNATIONAL_DAY #DISASTER #DPCW_1038 #PEACEWORLD #IPYG #IWPG #HWPL #WARP_OFFICE

Background

The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was started in 1989, after a call by the United Nations General Assembly for a day to promote a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction. Held every 13 October, the day celebrates how people and communities around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters and raising awareness about the importance of reining in the risks that they face.

In 2015 at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan, the international community was reminded that disasters hit hardest at the local level with the potential to cause loss of life and great social and economic upheaval. Sudden onset disasters displace millions of people every year.

Disasters, many of which are exacerbated by climate change, have a negative impact on investment in sustainable development and the desired outcomes.

It is also at the local level that capacities need to be strengthened urgently.

The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction is people-focussed and action-oriented in its approach to disaster risk reduction and applies to the risk of small-scale and large-scale disasters caused by man-made, or natural hazards, as well as related environmental, technological and biological hazards and risks.

DPCW_1038 : Path Towards World Peace

Amid persisting conflicts and disputes among religions, HWPL has recognized how crucial religious harmony is in building a peaceful world.

As most religious texts share the value of peace, justice, human dignity, respect, and harmony, when religious leaders and believers focus on the value embedded in their scriptures and promote understanding of each other’s text, harmony among religious groups is possible.

To this end, HWPL has been implementing initiatives including WARP Offices, Religious Youth Peace Camp, and Open Dialogue with Religious Leaders across the globe to serve as the platform for facilitating harmony among varying religious groups.

https://www.hwpl.kr/language/en/

At the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit held in 2014, 950 participants including 12 leaders who represented various religious groups worldwide signed the World Alliance of Religions Agreement and vowed to establish peace among religions.

Alliance of Religions

Ever since, people of religion including the high profile figures, have been putting in concerted efforts through HWPL’s network to achieve peace among religions in different parts of the globe.

Religious leaders of over 30 groups including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Sikhism have understood that peace and harmony of mankind are shared values in their respective scriptures, and that is why they have been proactively engaging in the activities for peace.

🇺🇳

While transcending religions, national borders, and ethnicities, they are those on the frontline, extending helping hands to the people in need of peace.
